We were very pleased with the turnout for the 2014 Cyman Triathlon! We hope to see you at next year's Cyman as well. If you can't wait that long, we also host an indoor triathlon in January, usually the weekend of MLK Jr. Day.

Online registration for the fall 2014 CYMAN triathlon has now opened, The event is being hosted Sunday, September 21 2014. All new this year is the addition of the CyMan Olympic Distance Race. Get excited!
The annual Cyman Triathlon is the Iowa State Triathlon Club's main event of the year. With the addition of the Olympic distance this year, Cyman is a race that you won't want to miss! Taking place in Bondurant, Iowa the Triathlon starts at Lake Petoka. The swim is one lap for Sprint distance and two laps around the lake for Olympic. The bike portion of the race is an out and back that does a loop through some of the winding back roads around Bondurant. The run starts on a new addition to the Chichaqua Valley Trail and ends when the path bends around Lake Petoka for a scenic finish. All participants will receive a CyMan water bottle and a CyMan T-Shirt. Medals will be given to the top three male and female finishers in each age division for both the Sprint and Olympic distances.

Sprint Swim: 750 meters
Sprint Bike: 22.5 km (14 miles)
Sprint Run: 5 km (3.1 miles)
Olympic swim: 1500 meters
Olympic Bike: 39.5 km (24.5 miles)
Olympic Run: 10 km (6.2 miles)
Transition will be located just outside of the swim finish. Transition will be a secured area and only athletes will be allowed into transition. You must show your race bib or body marking to enter transition. Retrieval of equipment must be done by the athlete only. The athlete’s bike number must match the competitor’s bib or body marking number in order to exit transition.
Wetsuits will be permitted according to USAT’s guidelines. The water temp in Lake Petocka has been right in the mid 60's all week. The race is looking to be wetsuit legal. We will have an exact water temp available during packet pickups on Saturday and Sunday.
Note: Swimming is not permitted in Lake Petocka at this time and will only be allowed on the day of the race.
CyMan Triathlon is a USAT sanctioned race. Please take time to familiarize yourself with USAT’s rules and regulations prior to racing. Penalties will be assessed according to USAT rules.
Minimum race age: You must be 15 anytime during 2014 in order to race
Chip timing provided by True Time Racing Services.
You will need the following to get your race packet:
• Photo ID
• Current USAT membership card or $12
• YOU and only you can ONLY pick up YOUR packet (unless you are picking up a packet for your child who is under age 18)
Swim waves will be announced at packet pick-up

From I-80: Exit 142, head north on Hwy 6/65/NE Hubbell Ave, Turn West on NE 78th Ave/2nd St NE, take first right (north) on NE 80th, Park will be on your right.
Follow signs and volunteers for parking. Parking is limited so please arrive early and follow directions. Parking is allowed in designated parking areas only. Others will be towed at owner’s expense. Spectators should arrive prior to the start of the race. It will be difficult to enter the park once the race has started.
